GREYMOUTH, Oct. 5. . The Wallsend State mine was idle for the second successive day today as a result of mechanical failures. Yesterday a fault developed in the cage equipment. it was repaired in time for work today, but a power failure at the mine early this _ morning _ stopped the fans making the mine unsafe for work until tomorrow.
