The role gives the talented Miss Russell ahother opportfunity for displaying • her .mastery 6f emotional acting which has been demonstrated in "Mourning Becomes Electra." Genn, as the architect who wants to marry her; Miss Trevor as the accused actress, an'd Greenstreet as a misguided pohce officer, turn in hrilhant portrayals. An excellent featured cast comprises Leon Ames, Frank McHugh, Walter Kingsford and Dan Tobin. Director John Gage and Producer Frederick Brisson have made "The Velvet Touch" a truly gripping . picture and a thoroughly believable one. Leo Rosten wrote a fine screenplay from the original story by William Mercer and Annabel Ross, and it gave Miss Russell opportunity for tantalising 'humour as well as emotional characterisatic-p.,
