Rahui were the first to score when, after a continued forward attack, Fox went over in a seramble. R. Giddens converted.. Punahau retaliated hard and ha.d' Rahui in danger on many occasions, but good combination saved the day temporarily. It was. not long, however, before Punahau scored, Heremaia going over for a try which went upconverte'd. 4 . After being two points behind at the end of the fisrt spell, Punahau put everything into an effort to take the lead, but it was nqt until about five -minutes before the final whistle blew that they succeeded. Rahui had been on the defensive throughout the' spell and weakened slightly at the critical stage. Ffom a scrum about ten yards inside Rahui's 25 Punahau hooked the , ball and the halfback went 5n the blind side to pass to Ngahona, who scored in a tackle.
