Sports Broadcasts.
Keierence to the use of additional electricf power for sporting broadcasts was . made by managing-secretary of the Horowhenua Electric Power Board, Mr. J R. A. Fredierikson, , at the power supply autihority secretaries' conference. "Last year we were atssisted in unit saving by restriction on radio broadc'asting hours, whereas this year the hours have . been increased," Mr. Frederikson said. "It is rather hard for the average consumer to forgo his hot bath so that his neighbour can listen in 'during the early hours of the morning to a recording of a football match played three weeks ago. I have no objection at all to anyone sitting up to listen in to a football match, but I do object to restricting consumers to enable him to do so."
