Personal. The death occurred at the Palmerston North Hospital on Wednesday of - Mr. Garry Edward Denton, brother" of Mr. A. C. Denton, Rahui Road, Otaki Railway. Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Olliver, of Waikanae, well known locally, in,tend leaving next month on a holiday visit to Sydney and Mel--boume, where they hope to see the Melbourne Cup race. Mr. Jack McLeod, of Mill Road, a popular member of the Rahui Football Club, suffered a nasty fall during the friendly game played at the racecourse at the weekend. As a result he is now nursing a fractuxed collarbone. Sudden Hailstorm. Aithough there was no sign of it in town, residents a,t Tasman Beach on Thursday morning experienced a sudden hailstorm of five or six minutes' duration. The fall is reporled to have been fairly heavy, the hailstones dropping thick and fast.
