(By

un' saturday tne Horowhenua Basketball Association closed its season with an all day tournament. In spite of the high wind, which made goal shooting almost impossible, a ' large number of teams took part and helped to make the day a success. In the A grade six teams competed, eight teams in .the B grade and five teams in the C grade. As each team had to play all the' other teams in its grade, the six college courts were in conistant use from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Competition Winners. ss The end of the compe ti tions finds Wanderers the winners in ohe A grade, with CoPege A run-ners-up. Otaki Textile top the B grade with Athletic and Punahau es runners-up, and Canvent A the C grade followed by Primary A and College F. At the conclusion of the games on Saturday, the cups won during the season were presented. . Another most successful 'season has thus concluded and it is to be hoped that the same enthusi"sm for basketball will be displayed next season. The association, and in partieular all players, are much indebtd to the referees who from Apr'il to September have given up each oatu-day afternoon so that basketball may flourish. To Misses P.
