Red Cross Society, are vesteci in/the N.Z. Patriotic Fund Board by the Patriotic and . Canteen Funds Amendment. Bill iiitro-cfuced in the House of Repr^sentatives todav. Tho trustees of any other war fuhd are also authorlsed to .transfer to the board any real and personal property held by them. The transfer from the Joirit Council of the Order pf St. John and N.Z, Red Gross Society, includes capital of £36,000 and real and; personal pfoperty which reprcsefits that capital. The ■'constitutibn of the . Pa,triotie Fund Board is- amended :to provide for the appointment of two members to represent diseharged servicemen who served in any war in which British forces were engaged, before the Secona World War. The first members Sh&ll be appointed on nomination of the National War Funds Council which is'to be dissolved. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Parry, said the Bill whs the result of consi'derable negotiation to amalgamate war funds held by dififerent orgamsations througliout the country, for 'the two wars. With few exceptions the organisa'tions were in fhll agreement. These few had not yet said whether they would transfer their .funds or reinain outside. ■„ Mr. Holland: Have they the option? Mr. Parry: Yes, it is permissive. He added that he felt sure it was only a matter of time when all would agree -to come into the one organisation as'a result of which a lot or duplication, would be avoided. ; f
