» . ■ — AUCKLAND, Sept. 28. An aircraft carrier was advocated as an addition to the Royal New Z^iland Navy by Comraander C. H. T. Palmer, Dominion president of the New Zealftnd Navy League, at the annual cofiferenc.e of the League today. He said it wms hoped it would not be too long before the New Zealand Navy would be able to undertake naval avlation exercises in conjunction with the Royal Australian Nhvy. "With the present Australian aircraft carrier and facilities available in that country, the cost of New Zealand maintaining an aircraft carrier would be lessened and naval strength * greatly increased. New Zealanders who pfoved themselves so capable in their umque contribiition to naval aviation in ! the ^ecoud World War, Would alSo have \ the opportunity of training in this most moderh aild necessary service. They would become a fnrther asset to Empire defonee.
