Levin Fire Board Meets

A new member appointed by the Government, Mr. H. Harvey, Snr., of Levin, was welcomed to the Levin Fire Board at its quarterly meeting recently by the chairman, Mr. F. E. Parker. The superintendent of the brigade, Mr. W. Salmons, reported that apart from an outbreak in some tar barrels, the quarter had been free of fires. Brigade meetings and praccices had been well attended. It was decided that all the exterior woodwork of the station should be painted and it was resolved to seek quotations for this work. Present ^t the meeting were: Messrs. F. E. Parker (chairman), S. G. Nicholson, J. H. Russell, J. C, Milnes and H, Harvey.
