Basketball Tournament

The Horowhenua Basketball Association marked the close of its 1949 season on Saturday with an all-day tournament. With 12 points to its credit, College A secured the Taylor Tournament Cup in the- A grade, with St. Joseph's, College C and Tui A second wi'th six points each. • In the B grade, Punahau won the Burdekin Tournament Cup with 12 points, Athletic being runners-up with 10 points and . Capstan next with 8 points. College D and Textile followed with seven points each. Tui B and C.O.G. B scored fdur points and Kotahitanga three points. COnvent A were the winners of the C, grade tournament cup with eight points and Primary A were runners-up with seven points. Primary B scored three points and Convent B and College E two points each.
