A shnrp drop in values is disclosed in offieial statistics" supplied by the Christchurch Woolbrokers Association covoring greasy vvool soid at the Christchurch crulchings sale on August 19. The average price was down by approximately 4d per lb. Total receipts from 462] bales were approximately £98,693 compared with approximately £122,289 from fewer bales — 4517 all told — in 1948. The average price per bale at last month's sale was £21 7s 1.9846d and the price per lb 16.8312d compared with £17 Is 8.231 d and 20.74806 -respectively in 1948. The not weight of wool sold was 1,407,336 ibs.
