Received Thurstlay, l p.m. NEW YORK, Sept. 21. The United States Secr.etarv of State, Mr. Acheson, today appeaJed to Russia for cooperation in solving international problems. He i 'd the major problems which pressed on the world could not be solved by national action alone but recpiired common action in the common public interest. Mr. Acheson urged Russia to reverse its previous position on the Greek (piestion and join in seekingBa settlement of the problem. He said if Greece's northern neiglibours realised their own self -interest required respect for tlie reconiniendation of United Nations and an adjustment of their relaLions with Oreece, a solution could be reached now. Earlier United Nations' General Assembly steering cominittee, rejected six attempts by Mr. Vyshinsky to have subjects renioved from the Assembly age'nda. The subjects were Greece, Horea, the report of the Interim Cominittee (Little Assembly), alleged huinau rights violations by Ilungary, Bulgaria and Rumania, United -\'ations' field service and the report of' tlie international law coniniission. Vyshinsky attacked the formation of United Nations' lield service — fomierly proposed by Mr. Trygve Lie, Secretary-General, as United Nations' Guard. Alr. Vyshinsky alleged that the proposal was a violation of the Charter and said it was tlie beghming of an hiteriiational armed forco. .
