John Jarvis, of the Kiwi Amateur Swimming Club, Dunedin, established another record when, in a special attempt on the New Zealand (boys under 14) freestyle record of 2 min 36.2 secs for 220 yards, he completed the dis'tance in 2 mins 29 secs. The record was held by W. M. Amos and was established in 1946. This is the third record Jarvis has established in the past week, his previous performances being 26.6 secs for 50 yards and 5 mins 18.6 secs for 440 yards,
