Levin Withstands Challenge For Shield * The Levin Miniature Rifle Club on Monday night withstood a challenge from the Poroutawhao club for the Bebbington Shield Levin had a comfortable win, scoring 1464 points to Poroutawhao's 1440. * In. conjunction the Levin club fired its 20th competition shoot. P. L. Humphrey's 100.7 was top card for the evening, with J. K. Knight and Mrs. M. F. Fletcher next with cards of 99.7 Scores were: — P. L. Humphrey 100.7; J. K. Knight 99.7, Mrs. M. F. The third round of the championship and handicap series shoots have been cone uded by the Otaki Miniature Rifle Club. Improvement has been shown in all grades, particularly in the B and C grades. The A grade trophy on this occasion goes to N. Monk with a top score of 296. The B grade .Irophy was annexed by D. Mould after a shoot off with F. Rowe, while G. Strom is the winner of the C grade award. J. Clark, J. Duncan and L. Gimblett were eliminated from this eontest, having previously won a series shoot. Their scores count for aggregates only. The weekly shoot on the Poroutawhao range was the final oft the fifth series. This month's trophy was won by J. Manley s with an excellent total of 795.13. ' The runners-up were K. A. Graham (794.53), W. Manley (794.39) and R. Cole (793.59). Three possibles were' recorded at this week's shoot, these being returned by K. A. Graham (100.7), W. Manley (100.5) and R. E.
