Received Tuesday, 11.30 a.m. NEW YORK, Sept. 19. Two people were killed and 34 injured were admitted to hospital, some in a critical condition, when a speeding train of the Southern Railway was derailed today in North Carolina. The diesel engine ' and four carriages left the line and plunged into a 12ft. ditch. Most of the passengers escaped serious injury beeause four Pullman cars on the end broke loose and continued down the line. Two Negro cooks were found dead in the wreckage of the dining car and most of the seriously injured were members of the train crew in the engine and baggage car, the mail car and the dining car.
