Over 20 local citizens made the trip to Ohakea in the special hus and all reported an interesting and pleasant day. Pre-Wedding SociaL The vestry and members of the ladies' guild of the Ven Bede's Anglican Ohurch are holding a pre-wedding social and dance in the Parish Hall tonight. The guests of honour are Miss Ngaire Peach and.Mr. Selwyn Hyde, two prominent church workers. An open invitation is extended to the public. A Delightful Weekend. Brignt sunshine over the weekend attracied most people out of doors and many fammes paid their first visit since last summer to the .neighbouring beacnes. Others made their weekend more profitahle by spenchng Saturday and Sunday on the banks oi the Manawatu River with whitebait nets. Although 'the fish did not co-operate as weii as coul'd have heen iioped, pleasant picnic parties along tne river banx maae the days attractive.
