The Marton Handicap was won by Bright Side after a grand finish, and Beau Or, which flashed up on the inner after covering: some extra ground on the home turn, was a close second, just beatirig Beau Bijou, which was another to finish brilliantly. The open sprint. was won by Faultina from Destina-' tion, and Gay Gordon and La Modelle was a close fourth in a' fast run race. The day was fine and the attendance was good. The totalisator investments amounted to £47,115L compared with £49,260 last year, the decrease being £2144&. In the third race, the Hack HuTdles, the leading horse, Playtos, ridden by M. Andrews, over-jumped the hurdle, falling and causing Sheilwyn, ridden by A. G-. Waddell, Gay Flame, Txibute, Golden Rocket and La Selle to fall. Waddell suffered a broken collarbone, Cleaver a bruised rib, and Taylor and Harris were badly shaken. The cause of the accjident was pnrely accidental.
