The work is ontitled "Rhapsodv in Brass" and was written when the comnoser wns anred • 25 and was serving in the Middle East with the Second N.Z.E.E. The first half of it was written in Swria in 1942 and comnletion in^errunted bv the ruflh to the Western Eesert to counter "Rrjmmeli's drivo into Ew^t.
