Poroutawhao Institute's Meeting

The September meeting of the Poroutawhao Women's InstAtute" was largely attended. Mrs. Scott presided. Apologies for ab'sence vere received from Mesdames P. Lingard and H. J. Kilsby. Mi-s. W. An invitation was received to the Manakau institute's birthday party. It was mentioned that a gift evening for Miss Arcus was to be held in the Poroutawhao hall sn September 24 and that the institute was arranging a concert for October 8 in aid of cKfistmas funds. Members of the committee were reminded of the meeting on September 28. An •interesting dempnstration on foot-stools made from baking powder tins was given by.
