Hokio Beach Residents Form Committee
A most- enthusiastic meeting was he'.d recently in the school room of the Boys' Training .CenLre at- Hokio Beach for the purpose o'f forming a committee to deal With the welfare of the beach. Mr. T. Brewin' was elected . president and Mr. G. A. MacDona-ld Bebretary. The committee elected is as foliows: Mrs. Upton and- Messrs McGregor, Stf'eeter, Ch'annings, Finlayson, McMinn and Hami. Subjects to be discussed at the next meeting include the. improvement of the road .to Levin, public fcelephone and'a camping ground. Steps to prevent the removal of s and from the beach and also the practice of some town residents in taking animal carcases to the oeach and dumping them there. Mention was also ma'de of the menace of wandering cattle on the road. . The ihstallatioh of electricity to he beach is likely to commence shortly and will be a great asset :o the residents. At the conclusion of the meeting a vote of thanks was passed to Mr. S.aniey for the use of the school room for ,the„. meeting.
