Heavy Stock Yardings At Levin Sale

Heavy yardings in sheep and caftlq oame foryard at yest&rday-'s weekly ' stock sale in Levin, 'bPt Pigs were in lighter sqpply, Fa wethers and ewes 'showed a marked depreeiation of from" 4s ; to 5s op previous weeks' values, but prices for fat hoggets remained steady. In the pig section porkers and baconers maintained a ready sale, whi'e store pigs were* again keenly sought. Dairy cattle, hqt yarded in any great number, showed a slight irnprovemeiit although still remaining difflcult to quit at auclion. Fat cattle were yarded in larger numbers than have been seen for Sqme time, but. prices remained high thrpqghbut. the sale. Realisations were as under:— Sheep: Prinie e\ves, 40s to 42s; medium do., 37s to 39s; prime heavy wethers, '60s ld to 62s 10d; prime wethers, 58s 4d to 59s iod; medium do., 55s to 57s; prime wooliy w.f. hoggets, 50s. 7d to 51s lOd; prime b.f. dp., 46s lOd to 49s ld; modium do., 44s 7d to 45s 7d. Pigs: Prime. baconers, £6 8s tc £6 18s; prime" porkers, £5 12s tc £6; medium do., £4 19s to £5 10s; lighter sorts, down to £4 4s; stores, £2 4s to £3 5s; forward do., £3 17r to £4 5s. Dairy cattle: Heifers olose to profit, £13 10s to £17 5s; ealved heifers, £12 to £12 10s; yearling do., £9. Station cattle: Empty P,A. cows, £12; yearling P.A, sceers £10 2s.
