German Motor Firms Display Their Cars
LONDON, Sept. Ti. Fifty leading German car manufacturing firms are participating in the first German mo€or show held since the war. There are 244 models ranging from tiny motor Bcooters to long distauce buses, exhibited. The clieapest car was a post-war version of the Hitler Volkswagen or people 's car costing about £360. The most expensive was a four seater Mercedos Benz sports cabriolet.priced at £1185. Manufacturers said that if price3, could be reduced by 40 per cent., Germany would again be able to provide strong competition for Ameriean and British car firms. The Russians, at the last nioment, refused to allow East German firms to participate in the show.
