Big Stakes For Trotting Jubilee
CHEISTCHURCH, Sept. 12. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the club, the N.Z. Metyopolitan Trotting Club will give a stake of £7500 and gold cup valued at £250, for the 1949 New Zealand Jubilee Cup to be decided at its moeting on Octojrer 29. The prize money will be divided as follows: First £4875, second £1500, third £750, fourth £375. The Jubilee Cup will be for horses assessed on 4min 21sec or better. Twenty-two horses are eligible to race at present but the conditions ou the programme- give the club the right to select fields. "This will be strictly enforced," said the secretary of tha club, Mr H. E. Goggin.
