Received Sutiflav, 8 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 10. The outsider Ridgewood, riddeu bv M. Bearv, today won the £5000 St. Leger Stakes a't Doncaster by three lerigths from Dust Devil with Loue Eagle three-quarters of a length aw(iv third. The time for. the r.ace was 3min. 8 l-5secs. Mon Chatelain, ridden by the American championf jockey Longden, finished last. r- '■ It was- anybddv'a'i race until the last furlong when 14 of the 16 runners were still bunehed together. _ Then Beary made a great spurt -to win easily. A huge crowd attended the meeting which was held in brilliant sunshine. Mr. Winston Churchill saw his racehorse Colonist Seroud, win the Lime Tree Stakes at Windsor todav. It was Mr. Churchill 's first appearance on a racecourse as an owner. The crowd gave him and Mrs. Churchill a tumultuous ovation when they arrived on the course and after Colonist Second 's win.
