Elaborate Precautions At Russian Port
SYDNEY, Sept. 16. The officers of the British motor-ship Kariristan, which arrived from Russia with 600 tons of tmned salmon and crab meat, said that armed Red Army men had sealed all the radio gear and dismantled the wireless aerials as pare of the elaborate security measures when the ship was in Nakodka Harbour. The ship was escorted into the harbour by Soviet gnnboats. Red Army officers took all cameras and binoculars int-o custody, and soldiers with loaded rifles were posted to watch the waterThe latter, who wore threadbare clothing and refused cigarettes for fear of disciplinarv acti'on, worked 14 hours
