Levin Municipal Band Broadcasts

The Levin Municlpal Band gave its first broadcast performance over radio station 2ZA Palmerston. North during the bahdsmens' session on Suhday morning. The band's programme opened with the march "Death or Glory," followed by the hymn "Ho:y, Holy, Holy," the selection "Zampa" and the waltz "Woodlands Blossom," conclu'ding with the march "Knedar Hall." At the request of the civic authorities and the Palmerston North Garrison Band, the Levin band gave a one and a quarter hour programme from the rotunda in The Squat;e before yery large and appreciative audience. The band was under the conductorship of Mr. C. Banfield .and its appearance and performance - was ^ -the subject of much commendabie comment. A further invitation to give a broadcast programme at a latei date was tendered by the broadcasting authorities. As from Sund'ay, September 25, the Levin band will render programmes in the Levin Public Gardens every fourth Sunday.
