Suspected Man Makes For Bush With Rifle
WELLINGTON, Sept. 9. The police are searching Akatarawa tonight for a man who made otf while he was being interviewed in connection with a suspected offenee. He is believed to have taken. to the bush and to have a small rifle with him. A police officer stated tonight that •the man was not considered dangerous. He was not in custody .at the time but was on'bail on a charge of theft. Two • police. officers went to his home m the course of inquiries about other missing goods. On the pretext that he was going to change his clothes he left them, and it wrb vrhile he was out of their preaence that . he - docanlped.
