Grass Seed Mixing. One of the largest amounts of grass seed to be mixed in New Zea7and for a number of years is at present massed on the floor of the store of a Palmerston North firm. The seed weighs a total of 300 tons and Is valued at £65,000.' It consists of various grass seeds to comprise a permanent pasture mik. The seed was brought from dealers throqghout the' country by the Government seed purchasing officer for the Lands and Survey Department and will be sent to Rotorua, where , it will 1 be sown over 16,000 acres of undeveloped pumice land which is now being broken in. There are only two firms in New Zealand who have the floor space big enough to handle such a large consignment of seed and they are both in Palmerston North.
