ASSISTED SETTLERS COMING ON ATLANTIS
WELLINGTON, Sept. 7. The immigrant s'hip Atlantis, on its preseut voyag* to New Zealand, is carrving 71- Govermuent assisted settlers. 4os men and 284 women, said the Minister of Labour, Air. AlcLagan, tonight. In addition there are some 150
armecL forc-es personnel. "Tlie proportion of nominated settlers in drafts arriving continues to increase, there being 116 on this oecasion as against 98 for the previous voyage," he added. "The settlers will be dispersed to practically every part of New Zealand including 219 for the South Island. The largest single allocation of men is to Lower Hutt where 86 men will be going to the new railways camp for employment on the Hutt Valley electrification scheme and in the railway workshops. A substantial allocation of nursing staff for publie hospitals includes 33 fully trained nurses. " The Atlantis will reacli Wellington Harbour on Sunday evening. All passengers will disembark next day and disperse inunediately.
