Convicted for the third time of being, intoxicated wliile in charge of motor car, Sydney Brovvn, aged 45, a company nianager, was today lined £50 and liad his driving licence cancelled for ten years. . Tlie police. told tlie Magistrate (Mr. II. Jenner Wilv) that Browu's licence was taken from him in 1947 for three years. However, tlie autliorities returned it conditionally on him using the car for business, purposes only. Brown. wliose car hit a sat'ety zone in Ponsonby Road, told the Court that ho liad only two wliiskies "during tlie night. Tlie Magistrate said it was clear that Brovvn was intoxicated.
