President Gratified. Commenting on the nominations at a meeiing of the club on Monday night, the president, Mr. F. Brunell, said that once again members had every reason to be proud of their efforts. While not over strong pumerically, the class of dog entered would more than make up in qualicy what might be lacking in quantity in some events, and$a good day's racing wa s again assured as a result. Two animals in particular will attract much attention, these being Tradition and Tai Fung. The former is considered. little inferior to the New Zealand champion Grappler, and Tai Fung is a recent purchase by the astute owners, Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy, who have won twice with this dog j since taking it in hand. The fine winning performances of White j Satin, in the. same colours, at the j last meeting are too recent to I have been forgotten, and in Tai Fung, the owners hope they have a dog as good. To recompense them for their ill iuck in losing White Satin, members of the local club hope this is so. Recent winners are prominent throughout the entries and with the steadily growing local contingent assured of a fair share of the stakes on offer, members look forward with optimism to the weekend. Arrangements are reported to be well in hand for another good meeting. Recent Performances. Local owners have attended two meetings in the last fortnight, at Trentham and Foxton. At the former Boston City jumped well to get second in the Novice Hurdles for Mr. Roy Collis, while Black Pool Sam ran a good third for Mr. F. Brunell. At Olympic, Foxton, this puppy made amends and won both the Novice Flat and Puppy Race very easily. Master Luna was left by six lengths in the open hurdles at Trentham, but put in some wonderful jumps to run second to the good hurdle dog Soneri. At Foxton Master Luna fell when in a winning position, but got up to run second. Later in the day Spring fell and bumped into Master Luna, who was unbalanced but once again ran second. It might be his turn. again at Otaki. Lucky Helen for once was not lucky; when leading in the Open Hurdles she injured her foot, but made amends for Miss Phyllis Brunell when winning the Novice Flat very convincingiy, Tracer, for Mrs. Brunell, ran a goo'd second at Trentham in the Limit Hurdles, but ran poorly at Foxton and has been "turned out." Bronstar is showing improvement for his owner, Mr. Roy Booth, while Lady Mariner ran a good race to secure third placing in the Limit Hurdles at Trentham for Miss Mavis Booth. I
