The source said Lu Han revolted -to forestall an expected move by Chiang Kai-shek to replace him as Governor. Lu Hau was in no position at this stage to received assistance from the regular Communist armies still lumdreds of miles northeast and he eould not.expect much help from Communist guerrillas in Yunnan. Tf talks between Lu Han and the Nntionalists fail, Chiang Kai-shek may send an army against Lu Han.
