XAPIER, Sept. 6. A Xapier man is flving to Auckland 1 this afternoon in a bid to regain hij)>" sight. He is Mr. A. D. Jensen who has been partiallv blyid for the past 15 years frdlowing an attack of blood |'"'sojiing. Mr. .Tensen has lost the normal sight "f his left eye but ean just distinguish davlight from dark. The vision from Ihe right eye has been very limited although after an unsuccessful experirr.ent with ordinarv spectacles, ho was iitted with a contact lens three years ago and has been able to see quito well through this eye for limited periods. The operation ho is to undergo is tlie 'b'licate corneal graft which involves oving a seetion of the rornea from his left eve and replacing it with a pieeo from an eye bank. Perfect matching of colour and size, which is necess.'t'v. has made Mr. Jonsen 's operation pos-dble.
