. AUCKLAND, Sept. 5. The Australian aborigine, George Kapeen, beat. Doug Godward, of Auckland, by a technical knoekout in the eig'htli round of a thrilling fight in the Tnwn Ilall tonight. Tt was Kapeen 's first fight in New Zealand and the eigliteenth time iil 3J starts that he has won by a knoekout. Kapeen hit too hani for Godward. Ile had Godward down for nine shortly before flooring iiim again wilh a short right to the jaw. The referee, Mr. E: AnniShaw, did' not . bother to eount. Kapeen weighed 10.3 and Godward bait' a pound heavier. In a professional preliminary, Phi.1 Wajlace (Auckland!, 11.4, knocked out Don Murray (Wanganui), 11.1$, in the rourth round.
