The work of New Zeaiand soldiers in 'discharging ships at Benghazi when it was a battered port during the critical Western Desert operations is still associated witn the harbour. Shipping information on draught restrictions at the port reveals that New Zeaiand Quay East and New Zeaiand Quay South remain the official names for the Benghazi wharves. Worms For Kiwi. A fairly large worm "farm" has been established ax the Auckland Zoo to maintain the kiwi s food supply. Children have responded well to the call for worms, and no further donations were necessary in the meantime, a zoo offlcia' said today. He added that, as Ihe kiwi fed only at night, the keepers had not been able to find out what quantity of worms the bird ate. t Alsatian Dogs Kill 30 Lambs. Thirty lambs were killed and afurther 15 were ba'dly bitten by two Alsatian dogs which were found roaming on a Henderson farm. The farmer, Mr. J. Cliisholm, of Forest Hill Road, said that in a paddock containing 130 e\yes and 189 lambs the two dogs had run riot for about two hours. The 15 injured lambs .were not expected to pve. Omy one ewe was attacked'. The owners of the dogs agreed 'to pay" for the damage done, and the cost to them will be weil over £50.
