Air Force Day As Annual Event

— WELLINGTON, Sept. 5. The observance of Air Force Day on a natiOn-wide basis, ivill be introduccd in New Zeaiand for the first timo on September 17. when major stations of the R.N.Z.A.F. will be open to the public for inspection and ground and air displavs will be given where possible. The Minister of Defenee, NTr. Jones, in a statement toniglit, said Air Force Day will be held annually bv the R.N.Z.A.F. as part of the Battle of Britain week. "The main purpose of Air Force Day is to acquaint the publie with the functions of the R.N.Z.A.F., particularly of its flving and technical nien," said the Minister. "Above all we want the people to meet the men of the R.N.Z.A.F. and sce how they live and work and gain an insight into the most Important of the tasks being perforraed. ' ' The stations that would be open on September 1 7 and the ground and flying events planned and other details, would be announce'd later, said the Minister.
