Woodcock-Savold Bout Next May
LONDON, August 30;. The boxing promoter Jack Solomon* announced today that the world heavv weight figlit between Bruce Woodeock (England) ancl Lee Savold (TT.R.A,)' Would be held in the open air at Whhe Citv, London, next May. This decision was made at a conference between Solomon.*, and the mana gers of Woodcoclc and Savold Woodcocks' piedical adviser, Dr. .Tohn Ashl'orth and Dr, Philip Kaplin, on behalf of Solomon,*, had earlier held consultations. Thev issued a - statelnen- ■ saying that, in view of Woodstock'aecident and after an exhaustive review of his medical * history, . they agreed that because of the great pos*ibility of Britain having a world heavyweight ch.ampion in the hear, future, everv effort should be made to get Woodstock as fit as possible. To this end it was agreed that the fight should not take place before Januarv. Solomons, and the managers of the two tighters then agreed that the fight should be held in May.
