Set New Golf Record

The congratulations of all district golfers will go to J. Winterburn, of the Otaki Club, on the new course record which he set last Saturday. Playing in the first round of • the club's championship, he turned in a card of 65, shading E. Gray's previous best by one stroke. Winterburn went out in 31 and then scored three successive birdies. In all, his card showed nine bogeys, eight birdies and one over bogey. His opponent was the well-knowm jockey, T. Webster, who was on a two handicap. Winterburn has entered for the New Zealand championships.
