Freezing Company's Record Butter Export
AUCKLAND, August 31. * Butter produced. in the Auckland Provinee and handled for export by the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Co. Ltd., during the past season, reached a record total of 4,602,731 boxes. This is 265,752 boxes higher than the previous record reached in 1941 when a small amount of produce from outside the provinee was included in the total. Killings of livestock at the company 's' works during the year, f ell from 1,760,319 head to 1,578,23.4 head, the decline being brought about by reductions in lamb and eattle killings. On a butterfat basis, the exportable butter and cheese produced in the Auckland Provinee during the year increased by 9.4 per cent over the previous season. Butter -receipts increased by 9.4 per cent to the record figure of 4,602,731 boxes and cheese reeeived increased from 210,201 crates' to 229,299 crates, a rise of 9 per cent. The net profit of the company for the year ended June 30, fell by £2549 lo £14,652. The profit fails to cover the steady 54 per cent dividend of £25,243 by £491 and the carry forward is reduced from £9221 to £8730..
