Passenger Dies From Crash Injuries

GREYMOUTH, August 31. When the lorxy in which he was a passenger, crashed over a five-foot embankment and overturned at Waimunga on the Reefton-Greymouth highway on Sunday night, a passenger received injuries from which he later died. The victim was: — WILLIAM JOHN SIMPSON, single, aged 61, a bushman employed at Maimai. When the lights gave out the vehicle crashed over the embankment. Simpson was admitted to the Inangahua Hospital early Monday morning and died yesterday afternoon. The lorry was driven by P. Longman, of Maimai, and there were five passengers- including one woman. All except Simpson escaped injury.
