Science Enters Laundering Business
WELLINGTON, August 30. Science marches on — including laundering. Laundry marks may soon be eliminated from elothing if delegates to the annual convention of New Zealand" Research Institute of Launderers, Drvcleaners and Dyers, put into general use an exhibit demonstrated today. By the use of ultraviolet ravs in the laundry industry, invisible marks wiil replace Indian ink. A "phantom fast compound" — at present used in the United Ivingdom — will be applied ( to elothing. This, while invisible to the naked eye, is shown up by ultraviolet rays. Your name in future may therefore be written in large phantom letters across lanndry-treated garments. ■'.■■MnrrririrwnwnMn,,,,!!,,.-
