One Of Escaped Prisoners Caught

AUCKLAND, August 29. After being at lilierty for three days, oue of the two prisoners who escaped from the Auckland prison last Friday, wa£ recaptured by the police on the eastern slopes of Mt. F.den this after noon. He Was Dawsoii Gus King, a tLree-quarter easte Maori, aged 26. who is serving a sentenee of two years ' imprisonment for shop breaking. He was takeh to the Centfal police station and later returned to prison. Following thefts in the distriet neai Mountain Road during the weekend: the police concentrated their search to- - day on the area, npar the gaol and mountain slopes. Shortly after 2.4-5 o.m.
