AN OUTSTANDING CALF FOOD
One of the most important developments in calf feeding this lyear will be the widespread use of Mother Liquor Tritrate, - the MilkSolids concentrate which was tested in a limited area with great success; for in spite of its extremely low cost, it is a firsfc-rate carbohydrate-protein-mineral food. Calves are fed Whole milk for at least two weeks, ahd then the I highly palatable Mother Liquor Tritrate (broken dowh with water in the ratio of 1 to 8) is introduced into the whole milk. Very gradually the proportion of the dilute Mother Liquor Tritrate is increased and the proportion of the whole milk deereased, so that at four weeks the calf is ge'tting > a quarter or less milk. Calves reafed on Mother Liquor Tritrate do not g^t blown or pot-bellied as they often do on Whey. Farmers may order through their dairy 5 company or produce merchant, or direct from the Pa, ea Ereezing Company, Ltd. The price is 33/- per 44-gallon drum f.o.r. • Patea, drums extra 15/6 each. One drum will feed six calves right through to November-December when they are weaned off milk products.
