Renown Theatre

M.G.M.'s • "Alias A Gentleman," now showing at the Renown Theatre,, is a breezy story which divfdes its humour and drama evenly. Wallace Beery stars as an . ex-crook who decides to become a gentleman with the aid of his accumulated savings. Involved are Tom Drake, playing an ex-prison 4" pal of Berry's, and Dorothy Pat- - rick, a down-on-her-luck actress who poses as Beery's daughter in an attempt to ferret out information as to the source of his wealth. In the final outcome, the redoubt- * able Beery, as usual, comes out on top and romance envelops Drake and Miss Patrick, but not before you' have been served plenty of r.ough-and-tumble antics, exciting pistol-play, and a huge platter of laughs from this entertaining screen menu. Also showing is the first test between the Springboks and the All Blacks.
