ALLEN AND DALTON STANDING DOWN
Eeceived Sunday, 7 p.m. BLOEMFONTEIN, August 27. For probably the first time in the history of touring All Black sides, neither the captain nor vice-captain will be playing in a Test match. Though Dalton has heen playing greatly improved foQtball he has not been included in the third Test side to meet the Springboks, while, in a reshuffle among the backs, Elvidge has heen moved into second five-eighths and Allen is standing down. Tlie selection committee of Messrs Parker, McDonald, Allen and Dalton, took little time to clioose the side, partieuiariy following Biack's pleasing display today behind the scrum. In tlie forwards Crowley replaces Grant and McHugh has been placed in tlie back row. Though he is not a specialist in this position, he has been among the most dashing forwards in the side and should also give added weight to the scrum. Tlie team is: Scott, Henderson, Goddard, Meates, Elvidge, Ivearney, Black, Simpson, Catley, Skinner, McNab, Ilarvey, Willoeks, Crowely and McHugh. Tlie Springboks have made only two changes in their second Test side, Marais, wing Hiree-quarters, and Strydom, fiank forward, being replaeed. Duvenage, wlio took part in the first i'est as an inside back, is now on the wing. In the forwards, H. Koeh goes to the scrum and Geel takes Koch 's place as lock. The team is: Fullback, Van der Schyff; three-quarters, Duvenage, Lategan, Yan der Schoor, Moss; halves, Brewis-, du Toit; front row, Geffin, Jordaan, C. Koch; middle row, H. Koeh, du Plcssis, Geel, Durand; back row, Muller.
