Reeeived Monday, 10.30 a.m. BLOEMFONTEIN, August 28. Elvidge, -who has already captained Otago and the South Island, will captain the All Blacks in the third test . match against the Springboks. Simpson has been appointed vice-captain. Both honours are rightly deserved as Elvidge and Simpson have ably' carried the burcten of niany tlense rugby tussles. "Perfect- physical fitness was one of the major factors in the choice of the team," said the manager, I Mr. J. Parker. "We have a tremendous task ahead of us in trying to square the test rubber and .our ! choice fell on those whom we felt certain could pieasure up to our all-out requirements. We feel we have. given every player a fair , chance to prdve his riYht to -test I horiours. . - I "The players appear to have recdvered from the strain of the heavy travelling before the second test and though the weather will be hot at Durban, I think the boys ajre ready to produce what is required of them, namely, the showihg of their lives." | ' Disturbing Aspect? j • The test Side is generally accepted here as the best that could be fielded and all the players . know fchat they must rise to the occasion as never before. The only disturbing- aspect has been the manner in Which the forwards have been shaded in the scrums and lineouts iii the more important recent games. The All Blacks will arrive at Durban on Tuesday morning if the previous procedure is followed. They will practise on Tuesday and Wednesday and reserve the remaining time for team talks and relaxation. (The All Black and Spripgbpk test teams appear on page 6, together with the report of the game against Orange Free State.)
