WELLINGTON, August 21. In a match which produced much ot the best which the Rugby eode has to offer, Wellington drew 9-all with the Ranfurly Shield holders, Otago, yesterday. Alvvays interesting and often brilliant, the match kept about 12,0UU spectators in a constant state of expectancy. Wellington forwards heid their own and the backs . functioned more as a unit than did Otago 's. For Otago, in the forwards, McNab, Luffn, Hamilton and Hellyer went well, and in the backs, Woodhouse, Wightman, Bell ands Orr. For Wellington, Crist played a magnificent game in the forwards supported by Wills, Leahy and O-'Donnell. The best backs were Bevan, Muliin and O 'Callaghan. Bell kicked two penalties and Perriam one for Otago, and for Wellington Mullin scored a try and Phillips and O 'Callaghan kicked penalties. Otago led 9 — 3 at half-time, after having the assistance of a strong wind.
