Kimberley Institute Holds Monthly Meeting
The August meeting of the Kimberley Women's Institute was held reeently, there being a good attendance of members present. The president, Mrs. Osborne, welcomed members and visitors and asked members to stand in silence in respect for two of fhe members who ha'd suffered bereavements. Apologies were received from Miss Woodmass and Mesdames Campbell, Smith, Rollands, Trew and- Smith. The afternoon was mainly a social one to _ farewell ~a senior member, Mrs,-McLean, whxleaves shortly for a holiday overseas. Mrs. Evans spoke on behalf of the members and made the guest a small presentation. "Mrs. McLean suitably replied. August bi'rthday flowers were presented to Mesdames Jepson, Aitcheson and W. Grlffiths. Next month the fiower competitions will be a small jar of primroses and a pound jar of polyanthus. The September hostesses will be Mesdames Guerin, Greenwood, Saint and Small. The monthly competition was won by Mrs. Waters 1, Mrs. Kissane 2. . Other competitions resulted as follows; Best fiower: Mesdames Fields 1, Coulson 2, Evans 3;. best spray: Mesdames Hagan 1, Dome 2, Crowe 3. The. meeting closed' with the singing of the . Natidnal Anthem.
