Ngauruhoe Active.
Mt. Ngauruhoe was very active yesterday morning and a large shot was observed at 8.15 a.m. The weather was blear and sunny. Another heavy frost, one of -10 degrees, was registered at Taumarunui yesterday morning. 'Alarmed by increasing road accident toll of New South Wales, State Attorney-General (Mr. C. E. Martin) has prepared a draftrbill creating a new offence of "culpable drivmg" and prescribing three years' imprisonment for drivers found guUty of causing grievous bodily harm and seven years -whare death occurs. Under the new proposal immediately the Crown proves that the drlver. causing death or bodily harm was intoxicated, the responsibility is placed on accused.-— BydneyGabl«.
