N.Z. Airmen For Duty In Hong Kong

AUCKLAND, August 18. Singapore is likely to be the operational base of a New Zealand air detachment for duty in Hong Kcng. Flight Lieutenant T. R. ll.rasters, of No. 41 (Transport) Squadron, is expected to command the unit which will include several complete Dakota crews and,. a servicing party to maintain three Dakotas. The entire detachment will be under the operational command of Air Vicd-Marshal Sir Hugh IJoyd, air officer commanding the Far East. His headquarters are at Changi and it is from this station of the Ro.val Air Force that the New Zealanders will almost certainlv operate.
